After our Annual General Meeting on Monday, the 8th of June, we wanted to take a moment to compile our AGM report. This gives us a wonderful opportunity to share all the exciting things we've been getting up to lately, as well as keep you in the loop about what's happening with the trust. We appreciate your continued support and enthusiasm, so let’s dive into the details!
This reports covers the full range of what it is we do, talking finances and trustees, community development and fundraising as well as youth engagement and our future plans, discussing the goals we aspire to achieve, to continue making a positive impact in the communities we serve.
So if you're interested, please take a look!
Here's a quick summary for anyone who is interested but just wants a refresher: During 2025–26, the Dunbeath & Berriedale Development Trust (DBDT) continued to work on behalf of the local community through fundraising, community engagement, strategic planning and project development. Highlights included the successful Fun in the Field event, which brought together residents, visitors and local organisations while generating funds for future community projects, and the popular Treasure Hunt Quiz.
The Trust progressed plans for a new community noticeboard to improve local communications, and
explored opportunities for community asset ownership through discussions with Highland Council regarding the playing field above Dunbeath School, and continued to develop a longer-term vision for community facilities and infrastructure in the area. Trustees also strengthened links with development agencies and partner organisations, reviewed future funding opportunities, and explored ways to increase youth participation through potential activities and partnerships.
Alongside maintaining a stable financial position and strong governance, the Trust continued to expand its communications through social media and online platforms, helping to promote local events, projects and opportunities. DBDT remains committed to delivering projects that provide lasting benefits for the communities of Dunbeath and Berriedale.
